DIY Summertime Face Masks


Today we are going to discuss the problems that we face during summer and what kind of skin issues arise out of the heat in this article. The following 3 masks are specially for the summer months, they are soothing and cooling to our skin. Make sure you try these.


1.      Fuller's Earth + Mint Leaves
1.1.   Recipe: Take a bowl full of mint leaves (without stems), grind it well to form a paste. Add fuller’s earth (Multani mitti) enough make a thick but soft paste.
1.2.   Direction and use: Wash your face with a face wash, pat dry and start applying the pasty mask with thin coat all over your face. Let it dry for 20-25 mins and wash off with a wet sponge.

Mint has extremely refreshing and soothing effect on your skin. It has anti-bacterial properties and salicylic acid both are important in treating acne. It also has vitamin A, which helps in controlling secretion of oil in people who has oily or acne prone skin.
Fuller’s earth has its position in beauty industry since centuries, although this kind of clay is a source of magnesium, silica, quartz, calcium, iron, etc. it can be used as a great cleanser as it not only removes the dirt but also exfoliates. It has absorbent properties hence this mask is prominently for the oily skin beauties out there.  As this will help you in controlling the secretion of oils. You can use this mask once in a week or once a fortnight.
 
2.      Orange Peel Powder + Glycerin + Aloe vera Gel
2.1.   Recipe: Take 3 tea spoons of orange peel powder, add one teaspoon of aloe vera gel and few drops of glycerine enough to make a thick cream.
2.2.   Direction and use: Splash some water on your face and wipe it thoroughly, start applying a thin layer of this paste, thin enough to cover your face. Keep for 20-25 mins till it’s completely dried and wipe off using a sponge.
Orange peel powder has large amounts of vitamin C, which helps to fight acne or prevents from the skin to make any more acne. Calcium helps in renewing dead skin and hence helps you get a new glowy skin. Glycering is a great astringent and helps balance the PH levels of the skin. Aloe vera give instant soothing to your acne scars and sunburn, it’s a great agent to keep skin young and helps in anti-ageing. 

3.      Mint Leaves Paste + Cucumber Paste + Honey
3.1.   Recipe: Take a bowl full of mint leaves (without stems) and grind them well without adding any water, add small pieces of cucumber in the same jar and grind it further for a good runny consistency. Add honey and mix well with a stirrer.
3.2.   Direction and use: Apply this mask using a brush and keep it on for good 15-20 mins and wash it off. This mask is great for hot summer days and keeps the skin hydrated.
Mint leaves absorb the oils and makes our skin feel fresh and more essentially it is refreshing. Cucumber has lightning properties and hence helps with the pigmentation issues and leaves the skin feeling cooling and soothing sensation from the hot summer heat. Since Mint leaves and Cucumber is going to dry out our skin, we add Honey for it to have a healthy hydration.
